I recently moved from Xuhui to Jing'an while keeping the same employer and residence permit. The police registration at the new address was updated online through the landlord's building office, but I am getting mixed advice about whether the immigration bureau also expects an address update visit.
The permit itself is valid until December, and my work permit card still lists the employer address rather than my home address. My HR contact says the police registration is enough unless the employer changes. A relocation agent told me to bring the new registration form, passport, permit page, and lease copy to the exit-entry office within ten days. I would appreciate recent experience from anyone who moved districts without changing jobs.
