I am comparing two offers in Shanghai: one from a local startup and one from a smaller foreign-owned company. The pay is not dramatically different, so the decision is really coming down to day-to-day work style, management expectations, and how chaotic each environment might feel after the first month.

For people who have worked in both, what differences showed up most clearly in practice? I am less interested in stereotypes and more interested in what actually changes in meeting culture, feedback, overtime pressure, and decision-making speed.
