Best area to stay in Chengdu for a relaxed 3-day first visit?

I will have three full days in Chengdu before heading onward by train, and I want a base that makes the city feel easy rather than rushed. I care more about food streets, tea-house atmosphere, and simple metro access than hitting every famous sight.

For a first trip that short, would you stay near Chunxi Road, Kuanzhai Alley, Taikoo Li, or somewhere quieter? I am traveling solo, so I would rather be in a neighborhood that is convenient on foot and still pleasant at night.

For a relaxed first visit, I would stay somewhere between Chunxi Road and Taikoo Li. It is easy for metro transfers, and you can still wander into smaller streets for food without making every day a long commute.

Kuanzhai Alley is worth seeing, but I would not necessarily sleep right there unless you really want the tourist-center feeling. Chengdu works better when your hotel is practical first and scenic second.

If you like slow mornings, pick a place near a park or older residential area instead of directly on the busiest shopping strip. Three days goes fast, and it is nice to have a calm base to return to after crowded sightseeing.
