Is 14k RMB a low starting salary for a first job in China?

I was recently offered a position at 14k RMB per month, and I am trying to work out whether that is reasonable for someone at the beginner stage.

The part that makes me unsure is that the company described some parts of the compensation as being reviewed monthly rather than feeling completely fixed from day one. I also keep seeing people mention 18k or more for first jobs in China, but I know city, workload, housing, and visa support can change the picture a lot.

For people who have gone through this recently, is 14k clearly low, or can it still be acceptable depending on the full package and city?

A lot of offers in China look acceptable on the headline salary and then become much weaker once housing, office hours, and extra duties are spelled out.

I would compare the full package, not just the monthly number. City, workload, housing support, and visa handling change the real value a lot.

If the employer gets vague when you ask for the full contract and weekly schedule, that is usually a warning sign.

For a first job, I would rather take a cleaner contract with predictable support than chase a slightly bigger number attached to chaos.
