I’m a foreigner living in China, and I’m helping my spouse track a Chinese visa application submitted through the application centre in their city. The online portal still says “under review”; we’ve checked it with the reference details on the receipt and looked through the email inbox, but there’s no request for more information or estimated date. I’m unsure whether we should keep waiting, contact the centre, or check another channel, and we don’t want to submit a second application by mistake. Has anyone dealt with this status recently, in 2026? Did the portal update before you received a message, and what details helped when you contacted the centre?
